Introduction and summary
Many long-term Zone Media OY customers have recommended our services to their customers, partners and friends. We thank you for your trust and we want our gratitude to reflect in your Zone account as well. That’s why we’ve launched our affiliate programme for regular referrals.
Each participant in the programme receives a personal affiliate link that they can share with their recommendation. It’s a win-win for both sides, subscribers who receive all new annual web hosting packages ordered through partner links at a discounted price, as well as programme members who receive a membership bonus on all services ordered through these links.
Just like Zone itself, our affiliate programme is constantly evolving. Therefore, we reserve the right to change the terms of the programme from time to time or, if necessary, to terminate the programme. Of course, if the terms of the programme are changed or the programme is terminated, all benefits and bonuses already granted up to that moment will remain valid.
Terms and conditions
1. Affiliate programme and membership status
1.1 The purpose of the Zone Media OY (“Zone”) affiliate programme (“programme”) is to involve Zone’s existing customers in the marketing of Zone services and to recognise and support more active referrers.
1.2 Any Zone customer who has submitted a membership application to Zone and whose application has been approved by Zone can be a member of the programme (“affiliate”). The applicant for membership confirms their acceptance of these terms and conditions. When approving or rejecting the application for membership, Zone takes into account the applicant’s customer experience, payment behaviour, etc., but does not have to justify the decision to the applicant.
1.3 A affiliate’s membership in the programme will end (a) if the partner notifies Zone of their desire to leave the programme, (b) upon termination of the customer agreement between the affiliate and Zone, (c) if Zone notifies the affiliate of its decision to terminate their membership or (d) if Zone notifies the affiliate and/or the public of the decision to terminate the programme. The affiliate does not have to justify their desire to leave, nor does Zone have to justify its decisions.
1.4 The termination of the affiliate’s membership does not affect the validity of the discounts or membership bonuses given by that moment.
2. Affiliate link and how to use it
2.1 Zone provides the affiliate with a personal web address (” affiliate link”), which the affiliate can distribute at any time and way they choose at their own discretion and through which it is possible to buy Zone’s services on discounted terms.
2.2 The moment these terms and conditions enter into force, it is possible to order web hosting packages Starter, Business and Pro through affiliate links. Zone gives each subscriber of the service (“subscriber”) ordered through the partner link a discount of 50% of the regular price of the corresponding service for 12 months, provided that the subscriber (a) does not cancel the service contract within 12 months or request to change the service package to a cheaper one and (b) pays the full fee for the 12-month period to Zone when purchasing the service. For the sake of clarity, after the 12-month period has passed, the subscriber can freely request to change the billing period, change the service package or cancel the service contract.
2.3 Zone may change the selection of services ordered through affiliate links and the benefits given to subscribers at any time at its discretion, notifying the affiliate and/or the public.
3. Collecting membership bonus
3.1 Zone gives the affiliate a membership bonus for services ordered through their partner link.
3.2 The membership bonus extends to Starter, Business and Pro web hosting packages and to Business, Pro and Platinum Smart Cloud server packages.
3.2.1 When ordering Starter, Business and Pro web hosting packages, Zone calculates a bonus of €20, €30 and €50 for the partner for the first year, respectively. If the subscriber continues to use the services ordered through the affiliate link after one year has passed, Zone will give the affiliate a bonus of 15% of the net amounts of invoices to the subscriber for the services ordered through the affiliate link in years 2 to 5. For the sake of clarity, if the subscriber changes the service package to a more expensive one within 5 years of ordering the original service, the more expensive service package in years 2 to 5 is considered the service ordered through the affiliate link.
3.2.2 When ordering the Business, Pro and Platinum packages of the Smart Cloud server, Zone calculates a bonus of €100, €125 and €150 for the affiliate for the first year, respectively. The bonus applies only if the subscriber continues to use the services ordered through the affiliate link after 90 days have passed from the initial order.
3.3 If the subscriber cancels the service contract or requests to exchange the service package for a cheaper one within the first year of placing the order via the affiliate link, Zone may fully reclaim the membership bonus given to the partner for this service. In years 2 to 5, Zone may reclaim the membership bonus given to the affiliate in proportion to any refunds or offsets made to the subscriber in connection with the services ordered through the affiliate link.
3.4 If Zone changes the selection of services ordered through affiliate links and does not inform the affiliate or the public about the conditions for calculating the membership bonus for the services included in the selection, Zone will calculate a bonus for the affiliate within 5 years of ordering these services through the partner link in the amount of 15% of the net amounts of the invoices for these services to the subscriber.
3.5 Zone does not give the affiliate a bonus for any service not ordered through the affiliate link.
3.6 Zone does not give the affiliate a bonus for services that have been used by the affiliate.
4. Using the membership bonus
4.1 Zone transfers the bonuses calculated for the affiliate to the affiliate’s Zone account no more than once per 6-month period, provided that at the time of making the transfer (a) the affiliate and none of the respective subscribers have debts that have become due to Zone, (b) at least 90 days have passed since buying the respective service, (c) the respective service is still active, (d) the respective service package has not been changed to a cheaper one and (e) the total amount of all bonuses credited to the partner, but not yet transferred to the affiliate’s Zone account, is at least €50.
4.2 The affiliate can use the bonus credited to their Zone account to pay for Zone services. In this case, Zone issues an invoice to the affiliate for the corresponding service, where the service fee is reduced by the bonus used.
4.3 Upon the affiliate’s request submitted in a form which can be reproduced in writing, Zone pays out the bonus accumulated in their Zone account or a part of it. When making a payment to a affiliate who is a physical person, Zone withholds all taxes prescribed by the law in force at the time of payment.
4.4 Upon termination of the customer agreement concluded between the affiliate and Zone, the bonus credited to the affiliate’s Zone account will be offset against the affiliate’s debts that have become due and the bonuses not yet credited to the affiliate’s Zone account will be cancelled.
5. Application of Zone Media terms and conditions
5.1 A affiliate can only be a person who has a valid customer contract with Zone, in matters not regulated in these terms and conditions, the Zone Media service conditions apply to the relations between Zone and the affiliate, with possible differences agreed upon in the customer contract.
